- When you first use the out of the box timer, you must switch the small switch at the back from "off" to "mute" or "loud". This is not intuitive (I think holding down the start button will turn it on), and the quick start guide does not include this simple initial step, and I did not initially see the black small switch on the back< There is no automatic shutdown function. I hope there is, but I don't want the timer to automatically turn off if you are playing a game and in between rounds, or for timed testing, etc. To turn off the monitor (for battery saving), you must turn the small switch on the back to "off"< The maximum counting time is 99 minutes and 59 seconds.
