Advantages -
# 1 Compared to semi commercial grade equipment priced at $150 or higher, it is quite cheap, with stainless steel bowls and larger capacity< # 2 heats up quickly because it is small, so you can try to create any meaningful quantity faster. # 3 Bowls are prone to breakage and cleaning is also good.
Disadvantages:
The # 1 protective cover is very hard and can break with very little force. The first device I received was already pre broken inside the box (this is a convenient feature that can warn me how to handle replacement parts)
# 2 The protective cover and bowl do not "click" together, so when the device is opened and rotated, harmonic vibrations may occur, and the sound may be very loud and annoying. I prevented this situation by using a small bag clamp on the outer edge, just to provide some more positive contact between the protective cover/bowl.
# 3 There is a considerable gap between the bowl and the metal body, which will be filled with sugar and the most difficult to clean part.
# 4 Bowl is connected to the body in a light quarter turn, just like you are tightening a screw. It can now fit well, but the plastic tab on the bowl that is threaded to the metal body will significantly bend and loosen, which I anticipate will be the next point of failure.
# 5 Bowl itself is very shallow, so you can only get about 3-4 in the "flossing area". An inch stick, so you can make a tennis ball sized marshmallow ball before reaching a point where you cannot build more unless you reshape the entire object with your hands or pull down the ball and start again.
# 6 This device comes with a small measuring cup that can put sugar into a central container. Due to how small/shallow the device is, you will eventually rotate approximately 50% of the raw sugar to both sides of the bowl before the floss begins to form. I will post a short video to explain/showcase this point. But the ultimate result is that you are lucky enough to get a tennis ball sized floss at the end of the stick, with a cup of sugar inside. This means you are either competing to keep the cup full while playing with a small stick in a very small space to get more sugar, or you just accept failure. When you pass your child the most anemic marshmallow ever, look at their disappointment<
Tip:
I'm using Gold Medal Cotton Candy.
. This is a brand that can be seen everywhere, with creepy clown patterns on the cardboard boxes. I bought a half gallon one from Smart and Final for about $6. I won't pay to ship those things from . In the end, I broke the original sugar ring formed along the outer edge of the bowl and ate delicious snacks. I also feed these blocks to the machine with one hand and collect dental floss with the other hand. It melted back very well, allowing me to maintain a fairly stable floss flow. What I do is quickly form a ball, and then use my gloved hand to push it from the stick into the side bowl/bag, basically forming a pile of snowballs. This is indeed the only way to keep it going< This thing is actually a simple baking oven for marshmallows. Can you make a brownie cake in a simple oven? Technically speaking, it is possible, but it takes 30 minutes, and the thickness is equivalent to the thickness of seven credit cards stacked together.
The heating element is difficult to clean inside
The capacity is small and a bit messy
I have tried crushed sugar, dental floss, and sugar granules, but the effect is not good. There is less cotton candy
This price is cheap, but the quality is not good. Buying another brand for twice the cost is worth it
