They gave me a replacement, and although it initially functioned well, it now just lets bugs fly in and out without electrocuting them! I gave it a good cleaning and switched it back on, but nothing happened. Nothing more than a group of bugs having a great time. Furthermore, I have no method of getting in touch with anybody about a return. NOT A STAR

    I didn't want to use pesticides and I had a large wasp nest. After setting this device some fifteen feet away from the nest and plugging it in, I carried on with my evening. I was initially disappointed since it is so bright and occasionally seems to zap stuff. A few hours later, my porch is filled with an unearthly din of snaps, crackles, and pops. Before a slow-motion cease-fire takes hold, there is a staccato display of lightning for about thirty minutes. A few hours later, the same sensation still woke me up. When the light came on in the morning, the nest was empty of wasps, and the floor underneath them was covered with hundreds of their dead bodies stuck in the lamp. I believe that once one of them was shocked with electricity, the others hurried to fight the attacker, who was a massive electric death ray.

They now come back every summer. These items burn through them. Now that they're too little to hit, zillions of tiny ones are popping like popcorn and leaving me alone. Overall, I thought it performed well and was superior than the Black & Decker version. All I want is to be able to switch on the bottom light at night and off during the day. Yes, I do suggest this insect zapper. Compared to the black and decker tray, the bottom tray is much simpler to remove.

    Update 2: A replacement was delivered by the company; we'll see how it holds up. One advantage of this version is that it includes a switch for the silly light on the bottom. Sooner or later, more details.

    Update: It died after just three months of usage. I would not buy it again and will go back to the old-fashioned zapper.

    It is a bit bothersome how bright the bottom led is; I wish I could turn it off.

For this reason, I moved it to a dry area where it keeps dry even in the event of rain.It's a little late in the year, but the bugs have already much decreased, and I'm now prepared to purchase another one for the front porch.Although it's a little tiny, it fits well in the space I use it for.This one is simple to hide and doesn't look too horrible hanging in the front or back, but if I needed it to accomplish more, I would certainly purchase a larger one.

    I placed this in the room beside the back entrance because I believed little moths were making their way through the gaps in the security door's screen. The number of times it cracked startled me, but what shocked me even more was how many insects I roasted after taking the plastic bug catcher out of the bottom.
    Because mosquitoes are too little to contact the positive and negative wires simultaneously, I don't believe it works against them. When I disposed of the dead in the pile, I saw little black insects moving about, but I didn't see any mosquitoes there.

    I found that spraying with the water hose worked best for cleaning mine, which I had to do on a frequent basis (unplug, let dry, then plug back in).

    At first, it appears to merely attract moths, which it then kills in large quantities. However, my true desire was for it to eliminate mosquitoes outside the little yard door and flies within my hosts barn. I didn't limit myself to moths either. About the moths outside, I don't care. The animals and I are not bothered by them. Because of how loud the zap was, it sounded like an electrocution. The dogs were scared of the puppy yard and wouldn't go outdoors, and the horses wouldn't go near their barn because of the loud zap, so I had to remove it. Thus, they are seated on the wardrobe.

    Because of the bright light on the bottom, I wasn't sure at first, but after using it all summer, I've grown to love it. Because of the uncontrollable influence that lights have on mosquitoes, I usually get frightened when I have lights around at night. Unfortunately, you are completely right, and I'd hazard to guess that it zaps twice as many bugs than my non-lighted insect zapper. Play cards with it or simply hang around; you'll enjoy many fewer pests that way.

    This device has adequate power to clear any area for a garage or party events. It's so effective that I laughed out loud at the first crackles. Although it requires an outlet to be plugged in since it is corded, it performs really well! The bottom twist-out lid for expelling bugs is a little loose and doesn't lock in with mine, which is the only drawback. It may come off easily, but in reality, that hasn't been an issue. At my home, I would use it more, but I don't want to deprive the bats of their food. For a normal residential residence, it works really well.

My most placid, non-spooky horse and pony refused to visit the barn for three days after I turned it off because they were so terrified of the loud noise. I placed one near my horse barn. It sounds very loud. but successful! They do the job, so I won't claim they aren't effectiveI'll just have to reconsider where I placed them.

The brightness was driving me to turn it off, but as soon as I stepped outside, it began zapping insects quickly. Even after spraying once a week, this insect zapper solved a problem region for me that persisted for many weeks. I also located the switch for the bottom light's off. Can now sit on the front porch without having to deal with mosquitoes and insects bothering you. Purchasing an additional one for my backyard. I'll also give another to a pal who has a Florida lakefront home. Fantastic project that completed the task.

Though bought in July, it wasn't until Septemberless than 45 days agothat it was unboxed and plugged in. It's put within our garage, so it's not even exposed to the weather outside. We've reached out to the vendor to inquire about their commitment to providing a replacement or sending us a new lightbulb. It's unfortunate that we even have to do this task in two months. Instead of days, this stuff should last YEARS.

    Regretfully, I'm the only one who gets to deal with flies from the food and mosquitoes from the standing water.
    I can sit out front with greater comfort thanks to this product.

    In terms of being a bug light, it is fantastic; even though it is October in Tennessee, the bright white light on it draws in any remaining bugs, and we can hear it working all night. The white light on it is better than a floodlight, lighting up my whole front yard and making my wife feel safer. Since I've only had it for two weeks, I can't say how long it will last, but I wholeheartedly endorse it. I've already made plans to purchase two more for my yard.

    It is undoubtedly effective. Usually, I just use it while I'm outside. I once forgot about it and kept it on for a lot longer than normal. It was crawling with dead bugs. Although it accomplishes the job, I felt a little horrible about it. There are some places where bugs get lodged, so keep it clean. I'd purchase it again and suggest it.

    Since there are a lot of legbiters where I live on a lake, this zapper never stops killing them from sundown until around 11 p.m. I do see a decrease in the number of bites I continue to get. When it zaps, it sounds rather loud. It gives the space a lantern-like glow.

    After 2.5 months of nonstop usage, Bulb passed away. was expecting it to stay longer, but it was on all the time. Not able to locate replacement bulbs either.killed a good number of insects. Will not buy from here again.

    As an update, the seller responded to my review by sending me a new lightbulb under warranty. Raising the star count from two to four.

    I put this in my garage since it deters flies and other insects from entering the home before they have a chance to do so. I hear it zapping bugs as soon as I drive into the garage and get out of my vehicle. My only issue is that the bottom tray isn't tightened enough to remain in place, but since it's resting on the workbench, it shouldn't be an issue. When pests disturb me, I've relocated it to my porch on occasion. The bottom continues breaking off, but because it's outdoors again, it doesn't pose an issue.

    All the species here in South West Arizona have been affected by this creature. Even gives the frogs food as they wait underneath the apparatus for their food to fall to the ground since I have left the bottom open. Starting from little gnats to larger moths and these awkward brown hard-shelled bugs. However, in around 30% of cases, a misfortunate moth will typically not release the electrodes, causing a constant zapping sound to continue until it disintegrates. Typically, it lasts for 20 to 30 seconds. I work about ten feet away from it, and it deters around 98% of the bugs that would otherwise swat me. This one gets a huge thumbs up from me.
