He only responds to vibrations, and I think his fur is too thick to feel the vibrations because the fork is too short. A few months ago (after using it for a year), how did one remote control stop working, so I only used the other one. Now, the collar no longer vibrates (one year later), so I can only use one collar and one remote control. When I need two sets (one for each dog), they cannot be connected together. I see that there is a 2-year replacement warranty and I would like to contact the manufacturer.
