It does have a strap that you can tighten to prevent it from falling off, but the brim usually falls off and covers his face/eyes. Although that's the case, to be honest, I can accept that it's a bit large because we will get more years of use from it. I just want to point out that I think it will be very large for most children aged 2/3. As for my son, he likes this hat, so it's the most important thing.
