    This product is very thin and prone to tearing, with a thickness that is half of the actual Reflectix. I won't buy it again. I use it to cut custom window insulation/cold insulation for my RV. My original reflexix lasted for 8 years and I used it a lot. Smartshield cuts to fit and protects edges with tape, tears will come in less than a year!

    When I first opened it, I thought the insulation layer was too thin and the silver cover was too thin. The fact is not so. I wrapped it around the AC exhaust pipe, and it can indeed keep hot air out of the room. I fixed it together with tape, and it didn't tear the thin silver cover at all. However, I did have to tie a rope around it because the tape had loosened in several places. I strongly recommend it.

    It's almost 1pm in Maryland. I usually go in before 11 o'clock because even with high-power ceiling fans, the iron roof on the pavilion will quickly heat up. We have Cooloo curtains on the sunny side, but we have to pay attention to the heat on the roof. My husband and I have insulated the roof this year, so even in the scorching sun, there should be at least a 20 degree difference. We nail it in place and then add wooden strips to ensure it stays in place. It is easy to install and requires both of us because it is installed on the ceiling. It is easy to reference and we have not encountered any issues with product tearing during our work. We have 2 different roof lines, one is an A-frame, and we used wider insulation material. The other roof is a four pitched roof, so due to the angle and support, we used 24 inches of insulation material. Overall, I think this is a good investment. You can't do anything, but at least now the heat on the roof isn't baking you, and the fan can move the colder air down instead of the hot air. Now that the sun has risen from behind, I have lowered the curtains for greater cooling!

    I need this product to cover garage doors and windows facing west, with two expected goals< 1. Block ultra strong light when the sun sets. It won't block all the light, but it will significantly reduce the amount of light. 2. Reduce heat transfer to the garage. This is where it suffered a tragic failure. The surface temperature did not significantly decrease compared to the outer and inner surface temperatures.

    Super easy to cut and install. We used these on the bedroom windows, which face the afternoon sunlight. Usually, due to these windows, the temperature in our bedroom is about 5-10 degrees higher (compared to other parts of the house - this is wild!!), so we use this material to cover and shade the windows and get thermal protection. We like to use it in the toddler's room because he really likes to nap in dark places, which is definitely the perfect solution. Considering that I just posted these contents today, if I find any changes in material quality and durability over time, I will update my review. So far, I feel great!!
